From....Aging Life Services, Otsego County Our program just started in January and is an outreach program for seniors age 60+ who don’t have access to services such as transportation to appointments, shopping, errands etc., someone to help them do light cleaning, a friendly visitor or phone call to visit and reminisce and a shopper to shop for clients and run errands for them.  Additionally we offer case by case services pet care assistance, yard maintenance and light home repair, these services are based on need, circumstance and volunteer availability. Our program has 2 sides, the volunteer side which is what I do coordinating volunteers to meet the needs of those clients and the Elder Care Manager who provides case management to clients for additional services that are needed. Ideally the goal of our program is to walk through life with a client as they age to help them remain at home independent as long as possible. I am actively seeking volunteers for our program so if you would like more information on our program or would like to join our volunteer team please let me know. There is a vetting process for volunteers so once we receive an application and I interview them they will have a background check and an orientation before serving clients.
